Here’s a glimpse of a Community Design project completed in 2014. Through a grant from the Portland Development Commission ( PDC)… NAYA and the Cully Blvd. Alliance invited Earth Art’s artist Robin Chilstrom to work with Kids from the Community Transitional School and Hacienda CDC , both in Portland’s NE Cully Neighborhood. We spent a couple of months experimenting with media and design ideas as the kids created images to represent their visions for Cully. Student designers range in age from 9-14. Robin digitally adapted student designs before a community panel chose the final 12 designs.
Below you’ll first see samples of original student work, then several students’ designs adapted for jurying and finally, selected banner designs. Banners are installed on Cully Blvd in the NE Portland Cully Neighborhood.
